It’s a project that lets your craftsmanship shine every time they slip it on. Please note: additional Ski sweater patterns and sizes are available separately. Designed using Mary Maxim Starlette Heather worsted-weight yarns that offered 245 yds per 3.5 oz skein at the time. Shop all of our worsted yarns, including Starlette Heather! Be aware of yardage changes. Note: Patterns for smaller, adult, and children's sizes are available separately. Finished sizes 38-40-42-44—Intermediate knit.

Knitting needles: size 5 (3.75 mm) and 8 (5 mm).
Stitch Requirements: Cast on, cast off, knit, purl, stocking stitch, repeat, decrease, increase, colour changes using Fair Isle knitting method.

This kit has been a dream! I started knitting it after a major injury left me unable to enjoy my usual summertime outdoorsy activities. It was meditative, calming, provided a creative pursuit, a goal to meet, and a task to fill my otherwise impatient healing time. I loved this sweater so much in the film and am so happy to have one. Plus, I made it!
It's my first completed project/first sweater attempt, and I learned many new skills, from pattern reading to colorwork. I was emboldened by the sheer number of others making this sweater, and I figured if I got lost there would be a resources online. The pattern was so well written it was very easy to follow. At one point my pattern got damaged beyond readability and Mary Maxim very kindly sent me a new one.
I've heard some negative comments about the kit not being wool yarn and while I can appreciate the love of wool, having a polyester kit was just the right amount of fool proof for this newbie. I ended up making the '42' and used every bit of white yarn but still had plenty of all the other colors left. However, I will say the difference in material and weight of the white vs colorwork yarn made getting even stitches a real challenge and because of this I no longer like the colorwork yarn and want it to go far away from me. The sweater I will keep forever. Thanks for being my gateway to many more sweaters to come.

Very good yarn for afghans: the weight is easy to work with, the finished product keeps its shape when machine washed. Good range of colours. Has been available in store and online Mary Maxim.
